” …We Couldn’t Have Been More Pleased.”
From my first phone contact with CLS Custom last month until our beautifully restored furniture was delivered this week, we couldn’t have been more pleased. I had a name-brand six year old sofa and chaise that had not held up well under gentle use. But the size and shape were perfect for our living room and we did not want to have to start the shopping process again. We also had a 16-year old upholstered chair that had faded from being next to a window in direct sunlight.
I spoke with Mike Catalano at length and felt totally comfortable making an appointment for him to come to our home to assess what could be done with our furniture. Mike was extremely knowledgeable, explained what had caused the problems with the sofa and offered the perfect solution of rebuilding it from the frame and springs out. Knowing that CLS is a family-owned business in operation for 77 years gave us confidence to go with Mike’s recommendations.
We discussed our color preferences and he went out to his van and returned with three fabric books in our preferred color pallet — no need to sort through colors that did not interest us. He helped us coordinate the fabrics for the sofa and chair with our existing color scheme. In addition, and perhaps most importantly, he made suggestions for modifications that would enhance the look of the pieces as well as incorporating our requested changes.
With thanks to Mike and to Tina in the office, the process was a pleasure from start to finish. I have already recommended CLS to someone who has gone on to have work done by them and will happily continue to recommend CLS for their professional and excellent work!

My personal experience with CLS is that their customer service and craftsmanship is top notch. When my wife and I got married 25 years ago we received from my wife’s mother, who recently passed away, a Thomasville couch and loveseat. Unknown to us, my sons cat got into our living room on several occasions and by the time we noticed both were ruined. My wife was quite upset. Fortunately we found CLS who was able to strip both down to their frames and completely rebuild both to like new condition.
This is the part where their customer service impressed beyond measure. Our Newfoundland dog with muddy paws got into the room the day after the ill fated couch and love seat were delivered. My wife tried to clean it not realizing the fabric was dry clean only. We called Mike at CLS for help. They came and redid the damaged portions at no cost. I was floored. Since then CLS has worked on several of our Ethan Allen pieces and some family heirloom antique furniture. CLS is my go to for furniture repair and restoration. I wouldn’t consider using anyone else.

I have to say that we were hesitant to have our furniture reupholstered but after meeting Mike from CLS are worries were put to rest. Not only did Mike reassured us that we would be happy and satisfied but he kept his word on all aspects of the contract. We were told that it would take six (6) weeks to have our furniture back and we did. We had a slight concern with one our cushions and Eddie, their repair guy came and ensure that he would solve the issue, which he did.
This company is not only fantastic in their dealings but honorable as well. I can’t thank them enough for their amazing and beautiful restoration. CLS Custom Upholsterers has been in business for 77 years…that alone, says so much about them. In addition to this fact, this is a FAMILY owned, and operated, LOCAL business. Their customer service, as well as their workmanship, are both quite remarkable. Mike, a member of the family, came to our home, and helped us select the perfect fabrics to reupholster our living room sectional and two side chairs.
They were delivered just a week ago, and we couldn’t be happier. So happy, in fact, that we contacted Mike, a day or two after the living room furniture was delivered, to come again with fabric samples for our dining room chairs!! Again, delighted with the fabric selections he helped us make, and loved the ability to see the fabrics in our home, rather than searching through catalogs on our own. We loved our 23 year old couch but the fabric had become worn out and torn.
I contacted CLS and an appointment was set. On the appointed day, Ray arrived promptly. He was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He assessed my couch and showed me some fabrics that would complement my furnishings. My couch was taken away, then returned about 5 weeks later, looking as though it came from a luxurious furniture store. Ray and the crew at CLS did a magnificent job!
My couch is now the most comfortable centerpiece in my living room. Two wooden antique chairs were also re-glued and polished up and look stunning! I would most certainly recommend CLS to anyone!

The slipcovers are beautiful! They restore the sectional and brighten up the room. It was definitely worth having the pieces slipcovered rather than buying new furniture.
